About South Sea Cruises
South Sea Cruises is the marine tourism operator based at Port Denarau near Nadi, and the company behind every connection you can book on this site. Its group runs the scheduled resort transfers into the Mamanuca islands, the daily Yasawa Flyer through the Yasawa chain under the Yasawa Adventures Fiji brand - established in 2002 and formerly known as Awesome Adventures Fiji - and the smaller South Sea Cats service launched in 2025. The group's day cruises and small cruise ships are not part of the ferry feed here.
The ships
The transfer fleet consists of high-speed passenger catamarans built for island travel: an air-conditioned indoor lounge with kiosk and bar, outdoor seating and an upper deck for the view, for up to 320 people. The Yasawa Flyer, a 320-seat catamaran in service since August 2025, runs the Yasawa rotation and carries the Captain's Lounge - a private air-conditioned lounge on the upper deck with a host and complimentary snacks and drinks, bookable as an upgrade on the Yasawa route only. The South Sea Cats service operates two custom-built 14.8-metre fast ferries, Lynx and Puma, with 36 seats each and retractable sides. The newest catamaran, Jaguar, arrived at her home port of Denarau in 2026. None of the vessels carries vehicles, and the operator states that they are not wheelchair accessible.
Routes on this site
Two rhythms leave Port Denarau. The Mamanuca transfers are repeated daily shuttles - four boats a day to South Sea Island, three to Treasure Island, Beachcomber Island, Mana Island, Castaway Island, Malolo Island and Likuliku, one midday boat to Matamanoa and Tokoriki, and one morning boat to Vomo. The Yasawa Flyer leaves at 08:45 and works north through the chain once a day: Barefoot Kuata, Wayalailai, Naqalia Lodge, Octopus Resort, Paradise Cove, Manta Ray Island, Korovou, White Sandy Beach, Long Beach Resort, Navutu Stars, Nabua Lodge, Oarsman Bay Lodge, Blue Lagoon Beach Resort, Coconut Beach Resort and Nanuya Island Resort, arriving back at Port Denarau around 18:00. Each stop is its own connection with its own ticket.
Check-in, luggage and the tender
Check-in for all resort transfers is at the South Sea Cruises desk at Port Denarau Terminal, 30 minutes before the vessel departs. The operator's coaches connect Nadi Airport and most Nadi, Wailoaloa and Denarau hotels with the terminal; pickups must be booked at least 24 hours before travel. The luggage allowance is one carry-on bag of up to 7 kg and one checked bag of up to 25 kg per person, stowed at the rear of the vessel; surfboards and paddle boards are charged at check-in. Most resorts have no jetty for the catamaran, so the last stretch runs by tender and sometimes means wet feet - wear shoes you can take off easily. Snacks, ice creams and drinks are sold on board, personal alcohol is not allowed, and on the Yasawa Flyer payment is by card only. All services are subject to weather and sea conditions; the operator recommends travel insurance.

Tickets for the resort transfers are sold online by the operator and through the booking window on each route page here. Fares are per person and per stop, shown live for your date, and a mandatory fuel surcharge has been in effect since April 2026 and is included in the booking total. At the South Sea Cruises desk at Port Denarau Terminal, 30 minutes before departure - for the 08:45 Yasawa Flyer the operator asks passengers to be there by 08:15, and offers early check-in the day before. Coach pickups from Nadi Airport and from Nadi, Wailoaloa and Denarau hotels must be booked at least 24 hours ahead; otherwise getting to the marina in time is your own responsibility.
How much luggage can I bring, and can I take a car? +
One carry-on bag of up to 7 kg and one checked bag of up to 25 kg per person; surfboards and paddle boards carry an extra charge, payable at check-in. The catamarans are passenger-only - there is no vehicle deck, and the island resorts have no roads to speak of. Bicycles are not covered by the published luggage rules; ask the operator before you book.
