The crossing at a glance
Denarau - Vomo Island Resort is a once-daily South Sea Cruises catamaran service: departure from Port Denarau at 08:45 and arrival at the Vomo stop at about 09:55. The resort's own transfer page describes a small VOMO boat meeting the catamaran and states that the return service leaves Vomo in the late afternoon. One boat a day in each direction - plan around it.
Port Denarau terminal and check-in
All departures leave from Port Denarau Terminal at the Denarau marina near Nadi, about 20 minutes by road from the airport. Check-in is at the South Sea Cruises desk, 30 minutes before the vessel departs. For the 08:45 departure that means being at the desk by 08:15. A same-morning flight into Nadi is a tight connection; the operator's airport coach exists for it, but a delayed flight has no second boat that day. The operator's coach from Nadi Airport and from most Nadi, Wailoaloa and Denarau hotels must be booked at least 24 hours ahead together with the ferry.
On board and luggage
The crossing is short and the boats are working catamarans: air-conditioned indoor seating, open deck, a kiosk with snacks and drinks, and space for island luggage. The operator's allowance is one carry-on bag of up to 7 kg plus one checked bag of up to 25 kg per person; surfboards and paddle boards carry an extra charge, payable at check-in. Keep your booking confirmation to hand; it names the departure and any connecting coach.
Arrival at Vomo
Vomo is a private resort island north-west of the Mamanucas, about 19 nautical miles from Denarau, on the water between the Mamanuca and Yasawa groups. The catamaran does not come alongside: the resort states that guests are met by a small VOMO boat and transferred to the island. Keep documents and electronics in a day pack for the hand-off and tell the resort which sailing you are on.
Tickets and changes
A current from-price is shown on this page. A mandatory fuel surcharge is in effect and included in the booking total. Rebooking and cancellation follow the conditions of the ticket you buy - check them before you pay, and take the return departure into account when you plan the last day of your island stay.
Denarau - Vomo Island Resort
The morning boat to Vomo
Denarau - Vomo Island Resort is a once-daily South Sea Cruises connection: the catamaran leaves Port Denarau at 08:45 and reaches the Vomo stop after about 1 hour 10 minutes. Vomo lies between the Mamanuca and Yasawa groups, so the stop is on the way north rather than in the Mamanuca lagoon.
One sailing a day in each direction means an early check-in and no second chance the same day - stay the night before in Nadi or Denarau if your flight lands in the morning.
